Joy’s Mongolian in Ames, IA, is a vibrant local spot where diners can create their own stir-fry bowls with fresh ingredients and bold flavors. The restaurant brings a fun, interactive experience, letting guests customize meals while enjoying a lively atmosphere. It’s a go-to for students and locals alike, offering both variety and value in the heart of Ames.

Joy's Mongolian is well known for it's amazing, authentic Mongolian food, but it lacks an identity. Joy's aims to position itself as truly authentic and traditional, meaning that the brand should connect to the culture of Mongolia. So, I created patterns and a logo that feels like the characters of Mongolia to tie its iconic authentic experience into the brand.
Business Strategic Approach
What We Did
A visual identity and packaging mockups were created to connect the brand to it's target audience. Being in a large college town, people from many different cultures gather in the area, meaning that the business must feel authenticly Mongolian to stand out from it's competitors of the many other Asian restaurants in the area.
